product overview

The open-source V5 Flight Control is a compact, lightweight, autopilot weighing just 15g. It features an STM32F765 microcontroller and is equipped with three redundant, independently shock-absorbing IMUs, ensuring excellent flight stability. It is compatible with PX4, APM, and  (vertical takeoff and landing) firmware, making it suitable for a wide range of drone platforms.

The ZK-V5 open-source flight control is suitable for quadcopters, multirotors, and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) fixed-wing drones; after flashing the corresponding firmware, it can also be adapted for fixed-wing drones, catering to both aerial photography and small-scale operational flight needs. It features a rich array of hardware interfaces, including 8 PWM channels, 2 I²C channels, 4 UART channels, 1 CAN channel, and a dedicated SBUS receiver input; it also includes an SD card slot for storing flight logs.

This open-source V5 flight control supports 16.8V lithium battery input and 5V bidirectional power supply, and allows for external current and voltage meters to monitor the power supply. It is compatible with both QGC and Mission Planner ground stations, supporting online/local firmware flashing and batch parameter import for debugging. With its high expandability, it is suitable for both small drone modifications and research & development debugging.

  • Application 2:  Suitable for small- to medium-scale aerial surveying, forest and mountain inspections, and river patrols; capable of vertical takeoff and landing without a runway; flight time of 50–60 minutes.

  •  Application 3: Power line inspections, coastline mapping, and mountain forest fire prevention; equipped with a dual-spectral thermal imaging gimbal for long-range autonomous flight operations.

  • Application 4: Drone education in academic institutions, secondary development and debugging, and crop protection drone prototype testing; compatible with 6-rotor multirotor frames.

Small DIY Quadcopter For Aerial Photography PX4 Firmware

Small DIY Quadcopter for Aerial Photography (PX4 Firmware)

The lightweight 15g body doesn't add to the overall weight of the drone; three redundant shock-absorbing IMUs ensure stable footage during low-altitude aerial photography; and eight PWM outputs allow for the addition of lights and throw servos.

Vertical Takeoff And Landing Fixed-Wing Aircraft

Swan K1 Pro Rudderless Vertical Takeoff and Landing Fixed-Wing Aircraft (VOTL Firmware)

Native support for tilt-rotor mode, automatic switching between rotorcraft and fixed-wing flight modes, and simultaneous support for multiple serial ports for remote control, data transmission, and video transmission peripherals.

Industrial Inspection Vertical Lift

Industrial Inspection Vertical Lift (PX4 Firmware)

Supports direct power supply from a 16.8V lithium-ion battery, features built-in current and voltage monitoring, and provides real-time monitoring of the unit's power consumption, ensuring high stability during long-distance operations.

Educational And Training Hexacopter Development Platform

Educational and Training Hexacopter Development Platform (APM Firmware)

It is compatible with all three types of firmware-PX4, APM, and HEQ-and features a comprehensive set of interfaces (8 PWM channels, 4 UART channels, CAN, and IIC), supporting the entire demonstration process from educational wiring to parameter debugging.

Core Interface Adaptation

  • Power: J3 (motor output + power supply monitoring), J11 (16.8V power supply);
  • Navigation: J5 (GPS), J13 (CAN peripherals);
  • Communication: J4/J10/J12 (data transmission / video transmission), J8 (SBUS remote control + debugging);
  • Expansion: J7 (I2C airspeed sensor), J9 (reserved for PWM servo expansion)
